FLaCCC is a multi-faceted non-sectarian cultural project, with a primary main vision is to showcase the history of what occurred in Colonial Florida between the years 1508 through 1825 and beyond. The Florida Colonial Cultural Museum Convention Center will profile the diverse convergence of cultures derived from multiple imperial impositions of “long at odds” adversaries: the British, French and Spanish empires dramatically reorganize the hemisphere, without regard to indigenous concerns. Their contributions spanning the era of foreign influence in what South Florida is today: “The Capital City of the Americas” will be prominently displayed.
FLaCCC will be a part of the Campus of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, located in the Allappatah/Wyndwood area of Miami; Centrally located between the inner city and the heart of the Arts District.
Build a chapel and museum worthy of the era, in the Inspiration of an XVIII (18th) Century Church of Colonial Peru. This structure will serve to house our extensive collection of original art and artifacts from that period of
history. The Chapel when finished, not only will serve for religious services, but as a venue of Baroque Music Hall as well. The Chapel faces the main Plaza, and its ample Promenade will serve to
hold open air Concerts. The Chapel is almost finished; so far we have spent over a Million Dollars in cash and in kind services.
When completed, The Florida Colonial Convention Center will consist of numerous buildings that will include: a Colonial Museum, a Cultural Center and Plaza, a Theater, a small Convention Center to accommodate up to 1,000 conventioneers, a Restaurant, Coffee shops and a Book store. It will be able to hold enough parking spaces as the law will require. The entire project is being designed and built in three phases.
Phase One: Chapel and Museum.
Build a chapel and museum worthy of the era, in the Inspiration of an XVIII (18th) Century Church of Colonial Peru. Phase Two: Cultural Museum building.
For this purpose we have accumulated the largest collection of colonial documents in the country, well over 100,000. Among these documents are probably the oldest document in the United States and many dealing with the American Revolution. We have extensive collection of valuable art and artifacts collection from the same periods to display. Our aim is to share these rare and important collections with the public at large; and in order to do so, we need to raise the needed funds to build and house the collection. What we are proposing for this phase of the project is a three level building that will accommodate the permanent collection; space for traveling exhibits, and also to house the archives for research of these important documents.
Phase Three: Theatre/Convention Center/Promenade.
Phase Three includes: the Theatre/Presentation Hall accommodates 350 seats, 1,000 person Convention Center, Restaurant, Coffee Houses, Book stores, Parking lots, and possible other venues which might be needed to help raise the income for the maintenance of the Project.
We hereby extend an open invitation to any person or Institution whom might be interested in help us in any way possible; to archive and enrich with this endeavor our Community and Country at Large.
